Rocky Hill Cops Bust Suspects In 2024 Commercial Robbery, Burglary Spree: PD
The thieves targeted multiple businesses in early 2024, according to police.
ROCKY HILL, CT — Police have charged four people in connection with a series of robberies and burglaries at local businesses in early 2024.
A gas station, convenience store and jewelry store were among the businesses targeted, according to police. One of the businesses was targeted twice within the same month.
Police Lt. Steve Morgan said the arrests are the result of a year-long investigation involving multiple agencies.

In addition to local detectives, police from Glastonbury, Middletown, the Greater Hartford Regional Auto Theft Task Force, and other law enforcement agencies participated in the investigation.
Cumberland Farms Robbery

Four people are accused of being involved in a Feb. 3, 2024 armed robbery at the Cumberland Farms at 741 Cromwell Ave. Police said two suspects, one armed with a firearm, robbed the store.
Kevin Ortiz-Rivera is accused of first-degree robbery, conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery, sixth-degree larceny, criminal possession of a firearm, first-degree criminal mischief, and first-degree reckless endangerment.
Frankie Almodovar-Roman is charged with first-degree robbery, conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery, sixth-degree larceny, and first-degree criminal mischief.
Two others, Nelson Colon-Davila and Rosa Mercedes are both charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery.
Exxon Gas Station Burglary
On April 1, 2024, two thieves forced entry into the Exxon Gas Station at 414 Cromwell Ave. around 3:54 a.m., then stole a cash register and other items, according to police.
For this break-in, police charged Ortiz-Rivera and Almodovar-Roman with the same charges: third-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary, third-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny, and first-degree criminal mischief.
Golden Opportunities Jewelers Burglary (No. 1)
Two people are accused of burglarizing the Golden Opportunities Jewelers at 781 Cromwell Ave. on April 6, 2024.
Police responded to a burglary alarm at 4:56 a.m., and when they arrived, they found a smashed front door and other signs of forced entry.
For this case, Almodovar-Roman and Colon-Davila are each charged with third-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary, and first-degree criminal mischief.
Golden Opportunities Jewelers Burglary (No. 2)
The same jewelry store was burglarized a second time on April 24, 2024, according to police. Around 4:20 a.m., police responded to the business, and the suspects fled the scene before police could capture them.
For this second burglary, three people have been arrested. Ortiz-Rivera, Almodovar-Roman and Colon-Davila were each charged with third-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary, and first-degree criminal mischief.
