Rocky Hill Crash on I-91 Causes Life-Threatening Injuries

The car landed on top of a guard rail, according to fire officials.

ROCKY HILL, CT — A motorist suffered life-threatening injuries after a single-vehicle crash on I-91 Thursday morning.

The rollover crash happened on the I-91 northbound Exit 23 entrance ramp shortly before 11 a.m. on Jan. 30, according to the Rocky Hill Fire Department.

Fire officials said the vehicle landed on top of a guard rail after leaving the roadway. The car knocked down a light pole and struck a rocky ledge.

The driver sustained “life-threatening” injuries, according to the fire department.

Officials did not identify the driver, whose condition was not available Friday.

The entrance ramp was closed temporarily Thursday while emergency personnel cleared the scene, and it reopened around noon.
