Rocky Hill I-91 Crash Leaves 1 Dead, 1 Injured

A single-car wreck in Rocky Hill over the weekend killed a driver and seriously injured a passenger.

ROCKY HILL, CT — A woman was killed and a man was seriously injured in a one-car wreck on I-91 near in Rocky Hill, according to state police.

A Dodge Stratus SXT was traveling northbound south of exit 24 at 3:49 p.m. Sunday. The car swerved from the left center lane across the right lane and onto the shoulder, according to police.

The Dodge then collided with the wooden sound barrier. Police said the reason the car swerved is not known.

The driver, Eralda Xhaxha, 32, of Enfield, was transported to Hartford Hospital where she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

The passenger was seriously injured and transported to Hartford Hospital as well.
