Rocky Hill resident, Jaclyn Farnham, receives Leadership Award
The 2024 Vern Hayden Lifetime Achievement Award is presented by the Financial Planning Association of CT.

Rocky Hill, CT resident, Jaclyn (Cooley) Farnham, CAP, received the Financial Planning Association of CT (FPACT) Lifetime Achievement Award on April 24, 2024 at the annual FPACT conference in “recognition of her contributions to the financial planning community and unwillingness to accept the status quo.”
The Vern Hayden Lifetime Achievement Award is presented by the FPACT leadership. Recipients demonstrate a long and consistent history of work toward advancing the Financial Planning profession, helping and mentoring members, and advancing the FPACT through their volunteer efforts.
Jaclyn served as FPACT Chapter Executive for 28 years. She helped facilitate 3 mergers, corporate name changes and navigated the organization through Covid. She managed the FPACT Conference for 28 years and also the Mastering Money Expo held at the Civic Center for several years. Ms. Farnham is owner of Association Alternatives, a management firm serving regional, state and national nonprofits.

During the Covid crisis, she also served as a volunteer Treasurer with Aid A Pet, a non-profit that helps low-income residents of Hartford supplement their pet food and care, and she joined a group of women in Rocky Hill to sew and contribute over 150 cloth masks for friends, family and health care professionals in long term care.
In 2009-2011, she spearheaded an effort to conserve a wetland portion of Elm Ridge Park in Rocky Hill, eventually succeeding, and going on to advocate for residents from New Britain, New London and Newington in their efforts to protect municipal parkland.

In 2012, she earned the post graduate financial designation, Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy, and has increased her work in the philanthropic planning profession with Endow America, a non-profit that teaches advisors and the public about section 664 of the tax code and when to use charity to save tax, create income and leave a legacy. In 2022, she completed the Certificate in Philanthropy program offered by FPA and the American Heart Association.
