Teens In Custody In Rocky Hill After Car Break-Ins, Police Chase: RHPD
The teen trio is believed to have stolen a car in West Hartford and broken into vehicles in Rocky Hill, police said.
ROCKY HILL, CT — Three teenage suspects were taken into custody by Rocky Hill police on Wednesday morning following reports of multiple car break-ins in town and a stolen vehicle in West Hartford.
The Rocky Hill Police Department said one adult teen, and two juveniles were charged in connection with the incident, which took place early Wednesday morning.
According to the RHPD, the oldest suspect is identified as Kevin Gordon, 18, of Bloomfield.

Police said he was and charged with risk of injury to a child, first-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit first-degree larceny, fourth-degree larceny, interfering with an officer, engaging police in pursuit, failure to drive right, failure to maintain lane, failure to display lights, reckless driving, and driving the wrong way on a divided highway.
Police said the identities of the two juveniles, aged 17 and 15, are not being released due to their age.

Rocky Hill police said its officers were monitoring traffic near the Wethersfield town line following reports of a vehicle and its occupants breaking into cars in the area.
At approximately 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday, a Rocky Hill Officer located a vehicle traveling without headlights on Maple Street, police said.
When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, it fled further into Rocky Hill, the RHPD said in a release.
Officers maintained visual contact and successfully deployed stop sticks, disabling multiple tires, according to police.
Despite this, the vehicle continued to flee before coming to a stop in the front yard of a residence on Denyelle Drive, police said.
The occupants of the vehicle immediately fled on foot, prompting an intensive search, according to police.
Mutual aid was provided by the Wethersfield Police Department, while K-9 police dog teams from Cromwell and Middletown were deployed to assist in tracking the suspects, the RHPD said.
The Rocky Hill Fire Department also supported the operation by deploying a drone for aerial surveillance, according to police.
"During the search, multiple calls from residents reported suspicious individuals near the Hampton Inn hotel and in the area of Sagamore Lane," wrote the RHPD.
"As a result of the coordinated efforts, one adult and two juveniles were taken into custody."
Police said the vehicle was determined to be stolen out of West Hartford overnight.
Inside the vehicle, officers located and returned stolen property to their owner, the RHPD said.
"This successful recovery highlights the importance of interagency collaboration and rapid response," wrote the RHPD.
"We are grateful to our neighboring departments, our emergency partners, and the observant residents of this town for their swift assistance."
