Commerce Dr. Accident Still Under Investigation [Update]
A driver is suffering multiple injuries after hitting a telephone pole.

Update, March 23
The rear seat passenger, 19-year-old Victoria Angelo of Brookfield, is in critical, but stable condition. The vehicle was being driven by a 17-year-old male from Bridgeport. The accident is still under investigation, and no charges have been filed at this time.

In a press release, Lt. Kozlosky said the initial investigation revealed that a vehicle traveling on Commerce Dr. towards Bridgeport Ave. crashed into a utility pole in the area of Enterprise Dr. There were three people inside the vehicle. The driver and front seat passenger were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The rear seat passenger was taken to the hospital with more serious injuries. The rear seat passenger was talking to emergency personnel on scene.
The Shelton Police Traffic Division Reconstruction Team was called to investigate, and they were assisted by The Trumbull Police Traffic Division Reconstruction Team. The road was closed for several hours during the investigation. The Shelton Police Traffic Division Reconstruction Team is still investigating this accident. No enforcement action has been taken at this time. Names of the people inside the vehicle are not available at this time.

Commerce Dr. is currently blocked off by police, fire department and EMS vehicles from Enterprise Dr. to the Bridgeport Ave. intersection by and .
In an email, Lt. Robert Kozlowsky said that "at approximately 11:00 a.m., received multiple calls about an accident with injuries on Commerce Drive. Commerce Dr. is currently closed while the accident is under investigation. The accident is being investigated by the Shelton Police Traffic Division. I don’t have any other details at this time. I will update later."
Police units at the scene said the driver lost control of his car and veered into a pole. They did not release his name, as the investigation is still ongoing, and the mentioned portion of Commerce Dr. is strictly being blocked off.
