Crews Battle House Fire In Shelton
The fire broke out Friday at a home on Waverly Road, according to the Shelton Fire Department.
SHELTON, CT — A Shelton home was badly damaged Friday when a fire started on the residence's first floor, according to officials.
The Shelton Fire Department responded to the home on Waverly Road around 3:45 p.m., the agency said in a news release. When crews arrived, they discovered visible smoke coming from the eves and heavy flames on the home's first floor.
Crews extinguished the fire in approximately 20 minutes, but firefighters continued to open up walls and ceilings to look for hot spots, authorities said.

No one was injured in the blaze, but the home was deemed uninhabitable. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The Nichols, Derby and Monroe fire departments assisted Shelton crews.
