Democratic Mayoral Challenger David Gioiello will outline his platform Monday at 12 p.m. outside of City Hall.
"David is committed to maintaining a stable tax rate and has promised to work for no pay if he cannot deliver a budget for 2014/2015 with no mill rate increase; supporting our education system; holding all City employees to the highest ethical standards; holding Department Heads accountable for meeting performance standards; and to being a full time Mayor by not engaging in any outside employment," said Jimmy Tickey, who is running for the Planning and Zoning Commission.
He currently serves on the Board of Apportionment and Taxation.
Tickey said Gioiello has volunteered in the community in addition to running his own workplace safety business. He is also the head of Shelton Democratic Town Committee.
Gioello is a Shelton resident for more than 30 years with a BS in Physics from the University of Detroit as well as a MS in Occupational Health from Wayne State University, Tickey said.
"He is a former Scout Leader, Sunday School Teacher; Youth Soccer Coach; Small business co-owner; and has worked for over 40 years to protect employees from injury and illness in the work place. He is also a Trustee and Treasurer of a Nation Foundation that provides scholarships deserving students," according to Tickey.
