DERBY, CT — Three members of the Derby Police Department recently received promotions, according to police.

In a Facebook post earlier this month, the department announced Police Sgt. Frank DeAngelo has been promoted to the rank of lieutenant.

Additionally, officers Joe Townsend and Josh Cash have both been promoted to the rank of sergeant.

According to police, all three have consistently demonstrated "leadership, dedication and an unwavering commitment" to serving the city of Derby.

"Their hard work and professionalism has not gone unnoticed," the department's post reads.

The department also thanked Chief of Police Scott Todd, Mayor Joseph DiMartino and police commissioners Thomas DeGennaro, Thomas Lenart and Michael Gloade for administering the oaths and presenting the promotional orders to DeAngelo, Townsend and Cash.

"We look forward to the positive impact they will continue to make in their new roles," the department wrote on Facebook.
