Falsely Reported Incident Leads to Car Accident
The following information comes from a press release by Lt. Robert Kozlowsky of the Shelton Police Dept. It does not indicate convictions.

OnOcttober 13 at approximately 11:30 a.m., Shelton Police received a 911 call from a male who stated “Help, Fire” then hung up the phone. After unsuccessful attempts to call the phone number back, the cellular phone number was traced to a residence on Driftwood Lane.
The fire department was dispatched to the residence to investigate the reported fire. A fire truck going to the call was then involved in an accident with two other vehicles at the intersection of Leavenworth Road and Maple Lane. The accident is still under investigation by the Shelton Police Traffic Division and no enforcement action has been taken. One person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Police and Fire personnel determined that the call was fake. Police were able to track the owner of the cellular phone who was a high school student. An investigation revealed that the owner of the phone gave his phone to a friend who made the fake call. The 16-year-old male student from Shelton who made the call was arrested and charged with Falsely Reporting an Incident in the first degree and Misuse of the Emergency 911 System.
