TGIF!

  1. Snow returns? The National Weather Service gives the following report for today: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 33 degrees. At night, a slight chance of snow and sleet between midnight and 3 a.m., then a slight chance of rain after 3 a.m. Cloudy, with a low around 29. South wind around 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
  2. CT SPIRIT from Hamden is hosting a full day tomorrow, March 5 at the ! The day starts out at 9:10 a.m. with Champion gym and CT SPIRIT showcasing their amazing talent for a very special young boy Jaxxon Reed who is suffering with neuroplastoma. Each team from both gyms will be there and will be taking turns performing this year's award winning routines! Then, at approx 12:30 PM, the next part of the day begins will the all star teams competition, followed by the middle and high school competitions. Only $10 for an all-day pass!  All proceeds go to Jaxxon!
  3. Beginning tomorrow, Shelton Girl Scouts will be hosting cookie booths at various locations throughout the city. All your favorite flavors will be available. Girls will also be participating in the Cookies for Heroes program, which donates boxes of cookies to our military troops throughout the world.
  4. More Shelton scholars! Lindsay Papsin has been named to the Dean's List for the Fall 2010 semester at Elms College in Chicopee, Massachusetts. To qualify for the Dean's List, a student must have a grade point average of 3.5 or better for the semester and complete at least 12 credits. Congratulations, Lindsay!
  5. Since 5 Things won't return until Monday morning, let's wish an early Happy Birthday to Shelton native Brittany Soderholm, who turns 23 years old tomorrow!
