'It's A Boy' For A Connecticut TV News Reporter
Fox61's Ashley Afonso announced his arrival over the weekend.
CONNECTICUT — Congratulations are in store for Fox61 reporter Ashley Afonso, who gave birth to a son over the weekend, her first with husband, Tommy.
"It is with the most grateful hearts we introduce our son Thomas Coughlin IV, affectionately nicknamed Teddy born, 7/10/21 weighing 7lbs 10oz," Afonso wrote on Twitter. "Looks just like daddy with momma’s dark hair."
Afonso, a Connecticut native who graduated from Central Connecticut State University, joined Fox61 in June 2019.

Before her current stint, she worked for four years as a reporter and anchor at WWLP in Springfield, Massachusetts, where she covered everything from a Patriots Super Bowl win to Donald Trump's inauguration.
In addition to WWLP and Fox61, Afonso's background also includes time as a sideline reporter for CPTV Sports.

She worked through her pregnancy and had some fun with it on Twitter during a workout.
"On the treadmill trying to to walk this baby out when @tvmattscott says 1/3 of our town is without power, better start walking faster," she joked.
