Jones Family Farms Raises Over $5k for UNICEF
26TH Annual UNICEF Festival Raises $5000 This Past Weekend

For the 26th year, the farmers at hosted their UNICEF Family. This past weekend (Oct. 22-23), guests were able to donate funds directly to UNICEF in cans and the traditional orange collection boxes, or by purchasing tickets for fun activities such as: temporary tattoos, sail designing, hunting for buried treasure and a brand new, kid-friendly, hay maze.
Terry Jones announced today that the farm was able to pool over $5,000 for the charity this past weekend and encourages guests to continue to donate.
“$5,000 is a great start, but we would like to be able to give even more,” said Jones. “We hope visitors to the pumpkin patch will continue to give over the next week and help us keep that number rising.”
The hay maze remains open for donations to UNICEF and starting October 24 Jones Family Farms is having their All-You-Can-Carry special. Keith Padin, Marketing and Hospitality Manager at the farm, said; “Visitors can load up their arms with pumpkins and, once they walk a short distance with them, they get all they can carry for only $29. It’s a great way to finish up your fall decorating needs or to be able to bring pumpkins to neighbors or family that may not be able to make it up to the farm.”
This weekend featured Magician , nautical story times and the Center Stage Theater Teen Cabaret from Shelton entertaining the crowds.
Terry Jones estimates that with this year’s funds, the 26-year total of the festival is over $100,000 in donations for UNICEF. Jones Family Farms remains open at their Pumpkinseed Hill Farm for pumpkin picking, stocking up on squash, hayrides, corn maze and the hay maze, straight through 4 p.m. on October 31 when the farm closes its pumpkin patch for the year.
