Man Arrested for Threatening to Shoot People at City Hall

The following information comes from a press release by Shelton Police Lt. Robert Kozlowsky

arrested a man on Friday, April 8, for threatening to shoot employees in their office the day before.

Angel Loyola, 51, of 37 Ridge Lane in Shelton was charged with threatening in the second degree and breach of peace in the second degree. He was released on a promise to appear and given a court date of April 25 at state superior court in Derby.

The arrest stems from a complaint by employees at Shelton City Hall. Loyola went to City Hall on Thursday, April 7, and spoke to employees at the Assessor's Office. According to the report, Loyola became upset and mentioned getting a gun and shooting everyone. Officers later spoke with Loyola at his home. Loyola admitted that he got upset and said the word gun, but stated that it was taken out of context. Loyola denied threatening any City Hall employees.
