Mon. Oct. 17: Hooping Class, Support PINK

Case of the Mondays?

  1. Forecast looks good for today! According to the National Weather Service: sunny skies, with a high near 66 degrees. At night, a slight chance of showers after 3 a.m. Increasing clouds, with a low around 45. West wind between 5 and 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
  2. Valley Regional Adult Education is offering "bringtheHoopla LLC (hooping) Fall Sessions." This women's hooping fitness classes are a low impact aerobic exercise which provide a cardio workout, burning approximately 500 calories per hour, while toning your core and working out in a totally social and welcoming atmosphere. We focus on glutes, thighs, and arms while providing body strength. And...no prior hooping experience is necessary. Everyone can hoop. You may register for the following two bringtheHoopla classes at www.vrae.org. Classes start next week. So...sign up now!!
  3. Boys Soccer is supporting breast cancer awareness month. Come to their home games and represent the cause by wearing "PINK" and contribute to the "Carnation for a Donation" project. Home games are today, Oct. 19 and Oct. 24.
  4. I See You is a program for unemployed people to reclaim their dignity and value as they grapple with job searching and life change, to hear with clarity their inner guidance, to be seen as who they really are! This is not a networking group to find a job, improve interview skills, write a better resume, etc. There are plenty of other resources for that. This group will meet weekly to share ideas, resources, and talents in order to feel more centered, inspired, and respected. Participation is free, but space is limited.   5. For the rest of the month, Shelton Patch will be holding an online costume contest! Send in a picture of you, your children, your dog, etc. dressed in their best Halloween garb, and a few days after Halloween we will post a photo album.
