
- Looks like Spring has finally sprung! After a week of rain and flooding, the past few days have been quite nice. For today, the National Weather Service predicts mostly sunny skies, with a high near 44 degrees. At night, expect a low around 27.
- The Future Business Leaders of America Club (FBLA) of Shelton High School is running a charity 3-on-3 basketball tournament on March 15 from 2:30 – 5:30 p.m. in the Gymnasium. The event, titled Layups for LaPorta, is in honor of a beloved Shelton High School teacher’s wife, who recently passed away. All proceeds raised from the event will go to benefit the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. FBLA members will be raising funds through a concession stand at the event as well as taking donations from anyone who would like to contribute. If anyone is interested in making a donation, checks can be made payable to SHS and in the memo section, please note FBLA Layups for LaPorta. Checks may be mailed to Nancy Duffy at 120 Meadow St.
- "Embracing Fertility Through Yoga" classes will being April 9 at the White Hills Shopping Center. Classes are for women and men who are trying to conceive on their own or are currently under a reproductive endocrinologist's care. The goal of fertility yoga is to reduce high levels of stress which can affect your overall well being and hormonal balance. By utilizing breathing exercises, visualization, meditation, peer support and specific postures, a restored balance and deep relaxation is achieved.
