Happy Monday. Here's hoping for a great week to all our loyal Patch readers!

- Forecast for the day, courtesy of the National Weather Service: Sunny, with a high near 41. Northwest wind between 7 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Hold on to your hats! At night: Mostly clear, with a low around 21. Northwest wind between 6 and 8 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
- Today is National Something on a Stick Day! Perhaps try or for some kind of meat or kabob. What's your favorite food on a stick? Corn dogs? Lollipops? Let us know in the comments!
- Pies at are $12.99, and their seasonal pies for the Spring are peach, peach crumb, strawberry and strawberry rhubarb. I cant personally attest that all of Oronoque's baked goods are quite delectable. Stop in and pick one up to add something sweet to your meal.
- Shelton native Amanda Rizzo, daughter of Carl and Dyane Rizzo, was named to the Dean's List at Ithaca College's School of Health Sciences and Human Performance for the fall 2010 semester. To qualify for this academic honor, students must attain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 and complete a minimum of 15 credit hours, of which at least 12 are graded. A grade of D or F or an incomplete in a course automatically disqualifies a student from the dean's list, regardless of the overall GPA attained that semester. Congratulations on your hard work and academic success, Amanda!
- Happy Birthday to Shelton natives Tim Zaprzalka and Eric Konopka, who both turned 23 years old over the weekend!
