Local baker brings bite-sized fun to the bar.

"If I get to heaven, this better be what it's like," one patron was overhead saying as he walked off with a plate of goodies.

This past Saturday, March 19, Shelton resident Aimee Cayer held a free sampling event at Archie Moore's in Derby. Cayer built up her business, Over the Rainbow Confections, from scratch and has been designing custom cakes and cupcakes from her home for 10 years.

Given the venue, it made sense that the theme of the night was alcohol-inspired recipes. The shooters (mini cupcakes) ranged in flavors from margarita to chocolate Guinness and proved to be a hit.

"I'm a fat guy and they were good! You've got a fat man's seal of approval on those," joked Jack Keyes as he left the bar with friends.

Over the Rainbow Confections specializes in custom made creations.
