Joshua Alexander Zarembski, 21, of Hunter's Creek, is charged with second-degree burglary, third-degree criminal mischief and fourth-degree larceny.
Police said Zarembski broke into the basement of a Shelton home in July and dropped a piece of mail with his name on it, leading to his arrest.
He also allegedly stole several items, police said.
Zarembski's bond was set at $5,000 for an appearance in Derby Superior Court.
