Shelton Man, 92, Dies After Crash

Police released the information Monday afternoon.

A 92-year-old man involved in a crash on Walnut Tree Hill Monday morning succumbed to his injuries later in the day, police said.

"Shelton Police were dispatched to Walnut Tree Hill Rd by Short Street for a two-car motor vehicle accident. The Fire Department and EMS were also sent because it was reported that one person was unable to get out of the vehicle due to the damage to the door," said Shelton Police Lt. Bob Kozlowsky. 

The man did not have any visible injures and was conscious and communicative at the scene, but was transported to the hospital after complaining of chest pain, police said.

The driver of the Mazda, a 24-year-old Shelton resident, claimed minor injuries from the accident, police said.

"The initial investigation by police revealed that the driver of the Honda was exiting a driveway when his vehicle collided with a Mazda traveling north on Walnut Tree Hill Road," Kozlowsky said.
