Shelton Police Dedicate Training Room To Officer 2 Years After Death
Police recently announced the dedication of the "Officer Jesse Butwell Memorial Training Room" nearly two years after his unexpected death.

SHELTON, CT — Police have announced the dedication of the Officer Jesse Butwell Memorial Training Room at the Shelton Police Department, nearly two years after the officer's unexpected death.
In a Facebook post Friday afternoon, police said the project stands "as a tribute to our fallen hero, Officer Jesse Butwell, a 15-year veteran of the Shelton Police Department who served as our dedicated training officer."
Butwell died unexpectedly on Sept. 8, 2022, at the age of 41.

At the time of his death, police noted Butwell was the department's dedicated training officer. He was well-remembered for his positive attitude, as well as the care he showed for others.

"Officer Butwel's commitment to our community was unwavering," the post reads, "and his legacy will continue to guide us...his spirit remains with us. Thank you for your service, Officer Butwell. May God rest his soul."
