Happy St. Patrick's Day!

  1. The National Weather Service predicts sunny skies and a high of 59 degrees for St. Patrick's Day! Tonight will be partly cloudy with a low around 42. There is a 20 percent chance of rain after midnight. Enjoy the warmer weather, celebrate responsibly!
  2. at 615 Howe Ave. has a $7 fish and chips lunch special. If you're in Huntington, you can find a good food deal at . They have a $5 lunch special, $7 hot lunch and $12 chiabatta sandwiches. You can also now sit and eat at Beechwood.
  3. Mark your calendars! Monday, March 28 is Read Across America Day. The Early Childhood Task Force of the Valley Council for Health and Human Services is holding a breakfast from 8 - 9:15 a.m. at John J. Sullivan's restaurant in Ansonia where they will be collecting new or slightly used childrens' books.
  4. Read To Me! Drop In Story-Time from 1:30 - 2 p.m. on Thursdays at is a new program designed for kids who cannot attend the morning session. This story time incorporates books, songs and activities that will be both fun and stimulating for your child. No registration is necessary. For caregivers and children ages 3-5 years (siblings welcome).
  5. Happy Birthday to three Shelton natives: Jessica Gallo, who turns 23, Matthew Demanchyk, who turns 24, and Theresa Giordano, who turns 19. These three share a birthday with soccer star Mia Hamm, legendary crooner Nat "King" Cole and actor Rob Lowe.
