- It's going to be a nice Spring day today! The National Weather Service predicts mostly sunny skies with a high near 65 degrees. At night, mostly cloudy with a low around 45.

- There will be a Planning & Zoning Commission meeting tonight at auditorium at 7 p.m. Topics to be discussed include the and an application from Avalon Bay Communities for a new housing development.
- Lauren Biatowas and Lauren Tiberio, two Eastern Connecticut State University Students and Shelton natives, were inducted into the Kappa Delta Pi Education Honor Society. The society was established to foster excellence in education and promote fellowship among those dedicated to teaching. Kappa Delta Pi recognizes students who sustain an honored community of diverse educators by promoting excellence and advancing scholarship leadership, and service. Congrats to both Laurens!
- This day in history: In 1869, The United States’ first transcontinental railroad was completed with a ceremony in Promontory Summit, Utah. In 1994, Nelson Mandela was sworn in as South Africa's first black president.
