First day of the month! Did you say "Rabbit, rabbit" when you hopped out of bed this morning?
- The National Weather Service gives the following report for the day: Sunny, with a high near 38. Northwest wind between 9 and 15 mph. And for tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 25. Calm wind becoming south between 4 and 7 mph. Temperatures not as high as most of us would like them to be, but at least today will be improvement from the muggy, misty mess that was yesterday!
- Today is National Pig Day and Peanut Butter Lover's Day. Though I don't think any of the farms in Shelton have live pigs, you can get meat sandwiches and peanut butter and jelly at one of the town's local lunch hotspots, , in Huntington Plaza.
- Shelton Lakes Apple Rehab Center will be hosting an "" event. Learn all you need to know about Dog Shows with this showing of "A Beginner's Guide to Dog Shows," from Trap Falls Kennel Club, an informational DVD produced by the American Kennel Club. - Happy Birthday to Shelton native Samanthat Mingrone, who turns 23 years old today! Samantha shares a birthday with two of pop music's young stars, Justin Bieber and Ke$ha.
- Congratulations to Sean Grabowski of Shelton, who graduated from the University of New Haven on Jan. 15, 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. Kudos to your hard work!
