Here's what's happening in Shelton

  1. The calendar tells me it's Spring. I have my suspicions, though. For today, the National Weather Service predicts mostly sunny, with a high near 49 degrees. At night, it will likely be cloudy with a low around 30. So, now snow like yesterday, but there might be a few surprises later in the week.
  2. Today is National Goof-Off Day! That means a legitimate excuse to be your secretly wacky self, because deep down you know that's what you really are. Our own Bryan Lizotte of is a fun expert. Lizotte is a full-time professional magician who offers shows for kids, adults, corporate events and restaurants, including "URU," an anti-bullying show for elementary school students, puppet shows for professionals, and balloon sculpturing. 3. Municipal meetings for tonight: Animal Shelter Sub-Committee from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. in room 104. Members of the Committee will be holding a question and answer session for potential bidders for the construction of a new shelter. In case you missed last week's story, . Also, at 6 p.m. in room 104, the Board of Aldermen Finance Committee will meet.
  4. Lauren Ostrofsky of Huntington has been awarded the James Holmes Graduate Scholarship at Pace University in New York. Ostrofsky is a Graduate Student majoring in Media And Communication Arts at Pace University's Pleasantville campus. Congratualtions on your accomplishments, Lauren!
  5. Happy Birthday to Shelton natives John Belanger, who turns 26, and Danielle Malkin, who turns 23. These two share a birthday with actress Reese Witherspoon and Broadway lyricist Stephen Sondheim.
