Anyone ever feel like Tuesdays are the sophomore slump of the weekday?

- For today's weather, very similar to yesterday, though maybe a bit less windy. The National Weather Service predicts the following: Mostly sunny, with a high near 41. Northwest wind between 9 and 17 mph. At night: Mostly clear, with a low around 25. North wind between 5 and 8 mph.
- Today is Festival of Smoke and Mirrors Day. This a day of illusions! The term "smoke and mirrors" means something is not really as it appears to be. People often put up smoke and mirrors to hide something. In honor of this day, let's turn our attention to Bryan Lizotte of . - There will be a special meeting tonight starting at 5:30 p.m. in the auditorium. State Senator Kevin Kelly and representatives Larry Miller and Jason Perillo will be in attendance to discuss the state budget, the looking deficit, and alternatives to Governor DannelL Malloy's proposal for tax increases. Participants will have the oppotrunity to as questions and speakin informally about their concerns.
- Patrick Ambrogio, an 8th grader at Shelton Intermediate School, has qualified to be a finalist in Connecticut's 23rd Annual Geographic Bee, to be held on April 1. One hundred and one of the brightest young minds in Connecticut today (grades 4-8), will test their skills in the event, moderated by Brad Drazen, news anchor for NBC Television. The state champion wins $100, geography books, and a trip to Washington, DC to compete in the National Geographic Bee, May 24-25, and a chance to win a $25,000 college scholarship. Go Patrick!
- Three Happy Birthdays are in order today: one to Andrew Ligsay, who graduated from SHS in 2006 and turns 23 years old, Michael Smith, who is currently attending Central Connecticut State University and turns 20 years old and Debby Stellavato, a retired English/journalism teacher who first got me on track to becoming a reporter!
