Tuesday Newsday. Here's the buzz around Shelton...

  1. Well, this week has certainly been off to an interesting start regarding weather. In case you missed it, of flooding at the Maple Glen homes on the Housatonic River. For today, the National Weather Service gives the following report: Sunny, with a high near 41 degrees. North wind between 3 and 9 mph. So, drier and less windy then yesterday. At night, expect mostly clear skies, with a low around 24.
  2. Today is National Be Nasty Day. That seems kind of negative (though admittedly amusing), so instead of passing on bad vibes to other people, you can be nasty by being antisocial. Think of it as a "me" day, because being selfish is kind of nasty, right? Focus on yourself by lounging around or for a few hours, enjoying drinks and music. Or, pamper yourself at or Spas.
  3. Have you noticed one of our new features, Parents Talk? Each week, we'll introduce a new topic that affects families, and hope you'll participate in the conversation. Our last two topics were on and "" Check out the articles and share your comments, experiences, opinions and advice.
  4. Shelton Historical Societies "Reading Circle" will meet from 7 - 8:30 p.m. to discuss, "Letters to Jackie," by Ellen Fitzgerald at the . This group hostes free meetings that are open to the pubic. Books tend to have historical theme.
  5. The following hometown residents were named to the Dean's List during the fall 2010 semester at Salve Regina University: Iliana Pendakiwskyj (sophomore), Domenique Santoro (senior) and Stephanie Turaj (senior). Congratulations and good work!
