  1. Yesterday certainly didn't feel like Fall weather, but I didn't hate it. Looks like today is going to be nice as well. The National Weather Service predicts the following: Partly sunny, with a high near 70 degrees. East wind around nine mph. At night, Mostly cloudy, with a low around 53. East wind around eight mph. Enjoy the clear skies, because we're likely to see rain on Wednesday.
  2. Today is National "It's My Party Day." (I swear, I didn't make that up, and I'm completely inclined to trust this random source). So whether you're celebrating a birthday, graduation, engagement...whatever, remember that today is all about parties. And what better way to stock up on supplies than by stopping in to Dollar Bargains, a new store conveniently located at 450 Howe Ave. It just recently opened, so go and show your support for local businesses!
  3. The Exchange Club of Shelton is hosting an open house tomorrow at at 7 p.m. The Exchange Club is a non-profit National organization whose main focus is aiding in the prevention of Child Abuse. The group also performs community service and fosters Americanism. They invite you to (Wednesday, Oct. 12) and find out what they're all about!
  4. Need a hobby? Looking to beat Seasonal Affective Disorder this year? Want to learn something new? being offered by Valley Regional Adult Education. Some have started, but there are plenty more that you can still sign up for!
  5. Marissa Mongillo of Shelton is currently attending Elmira College in New York. She has earned the school's Founder Scholarship, valued at $48,000 over four years. Congratulations!
