Haven't been checking the events listings or announcements regularly? The morning briefing aims to highlight some of those that may be overlooked, as well as provide some fun facts! So without further ado, let's get right into today's highlghts:

  • Shelton Alliance BNI (Business Networking International) is hosting an open house at Brownson Country Club tonight. This business group will be hosting a Fall Open House on Wednesday, October 19 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at, 15 Soundview Ave., Shelton. Appetizers will be served along with a cash bar. The cost per person is $10. Business people who want to grow their business through warm referrals are invited to attend.  Membership is not restricted by town but is open to professionals in Shelton and other communities.
  • Shelton Resident Joins VNA HealthCare! VNAHealthCare, a Hartford HealthCare partner, announces that Deborah Mazur, LPN, of Shelton, CT joined the agency as a Provider Relations Liaison in the agency's Cheshire office.
  • is celebrating their one year anniversary! The event will take place on Oct. 26 from 11 a.m. - 7 p.m., so mark your calendars! Cathy and Danny Szabo, owners, had the following to say: "In celebration of our 1 year anniversary in Shelton. Szabo's Seafood will be offering FREE samples of our chowders, crab cakes and stuffed clams to thank the town of Shelton for a great first year! We welcome everyone to stop in and sample our foods and take a look at our menus and specials." For more details,
  • There seems to be a lot of criticism against Shelton, as two of our fantastic bloggers have pointed out. In case you missed it, here is Danielle Elwood's, and here is Kaitlyn Carroll's post, entitiled ." These two pieces are worth reading, and please add your comments, questions and concerns. Our goal is to keep the conversation going! We want to know what Shelton residents are concerned about, and how we at Patch can focus on addressing those issues.
  • Also - don't forget our ! We've gotten quite a few submissions so far, but I'll wait to post all pictures in an album the day after Halloween.
