Here's some stuff goin' on around town. Oh, also, it's hump day!

- Rain, rain go away. Looks like we'll have some wet weather today...rock those rainboots. The National Weather Service gives the following report: Rain and possibly a thunderstorm before 3 p.m, then a slight chance of rain. High near 50. East wind 7 to 11 mph becoming west. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible. At night, mostly cloudy skies with a low around 34 degrees.
- Relatively slow week for municipal meetings news. The only meeting being held tonight is a special budget discussion. It will take place at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium. There will be an additional discussion same time, same place on Thursday.
- For those of us who don't own iPhones and consequently don't utilize the "Words With Friends" app, it's Scrabble time at 10 a.m. Wednesday mornings at . All members (only) are welcome to enjoy a friendly game.
- Visit Griffin Hospital for "HUGS" (Help Unlimited Griffin Support) a support group for cancer survivors and those with a current diagnosis, regardless of the type. Friends and family are always welcome. The meetings take place from 6 -7 p.m. on Wednesdays at 130 Division Street in Derby. - The Shelton Community Lions Club will be collecting non-perishable food stuffs for Easter Baskets to be distributed to 10 needy Shelton families. Drop off food boxes are located at Shelton City Hall and the from now until April 10. Canned goods, peas, beans, corn, canned ham, coffee, jelly beans, canned potatoes or yams are requested.
