Campaign To Help Simsbury Businesses Save Money And Energy Underway
The campaign encourages local businesses to participate in Eversource's Small Business Energy Advantage program.

From Eversource: The Town of Simsbury and the Simsbury Chamber of Commerce have joined forces with Eversource to launch a town-wide energy-saving campaign for businesses that will also support the Simsbury Clean Energy Task Force.
The energy-saving campaign encourages local businesses to participate in Eversource’s Small Business Energy Advantage program, where expert technicians conduct a no-cost facility energy audit and propose custom recommendations for energy improvements. Financial incentives are also available through the program to offset the cost of upgrading to energy-efficient technology. Fitzgerald’s Foods, a staple Simsbury grocery store, is one local business that benefitted from participating in the program.
“We used the Small Business Energy Advantage program to update our lighting,” said Bryan Devoe, owner of Fitzgerald’s Foods. “The process was seamless.”

By replacing old, inefficient lighting with high-efficiency LED lighting, Fitzgerald’s Foods will save more than $4,800 a year in energy costs. That's more than 475,000 kilowatt-hours and more than $60,000 in utility costs throughout the lifetime of the newly installed equipment.
“The incentives and the fact that our energy savings were so significant made it a complete no brainer. Every business should consider having an audit done,” said Devoe.

For every completed project by Artis Energy (formerly known as Nxgen LLC) and JK Energy Solutions, the Eversource-authorized contractors that are available to provide Simsbury businesses with energy-saving services, $50 donations will be made to the Simsbury Clean Energy Task Force.
