'Funny Program About Funny Programs' Slated At Simsbury Library

A West Hartford-based author/humorist will be at the Simsbury Library this week to discuss the best sitcoms and his book about them.

SIMSBURY, CT — A West Hartford resident and hilarious author will appear at the Simsbury Public Library on Thursday, Sept. 18, to discuss those 30-minute TV treasures we all grew up with — sitcoms.

The library is hosting a special free program featuring award-winning author and pop culture historian Martin "Marty" Gitlin, who is the author of "The Greatest Sitcoms of All Time."

During what the library says will be a "fun and enlightening" presentation, Gitlin will show funny snippets from those shows and others, challenge patrons with sitcom trivia (including identifying cool theme songs), and discuss the criteria he used to rank 70 years of sitcoms.
