Simsbury Republican Town Committee Chairperson Christine Traficante said the slate brings together experienced public servants, individuals stepping into new roles, and first-time candidates.

She said the GOP focus is "not on national politics or weekend protests, but on local issues
that truly matter to Simsbury families and businesses—issues that directly impact residents’ everyday lives."

Goetz, currently an incumbent two-term selectman, said she looked forward to the chance to lead the town.

“I am honored to accept the nomination for first selectman. Simsbury is a special town, and I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to its growth and prosperity," Goetz said in a statement.

"We are at a crucial juncture where we must work together to shape a vision for Simsbury’s future. Too often, decisions are made in isolation without considering their broader impact.

"Whether it’s taxes, development, or maintaining our town’s character, every choice must align with a long-term, cohesive plan that balances progress with preservation.

"Our town deserves a clear, unified strategy that focuses on local needs and priorities while respecting our history and protecting our future.

"Together, we can build a Simsbury that meets today’s needs while leaving a thriving legacy for generations to come.”
