Grappler From Simsbury High School Wins CIAC Divisional Championship

WILTON, CT — A grappler from Simsbury High School turned in a championship performance at the CIAC Class L divisional wrestling meet Saturday at Wilton High School.

Maximus Konopka pinned Brayden Soleau of East Lyme in 3:46 to capture the 190-lb. title. Five other Trojans were placewinners, including a runner-up performance by Coleman Finn at 138 lbs., enabling Simsbury to place fourth in team competition with 154 points.

The State Open is scheduled for Feb. 28 and March 1 at the Floyd Little Athletic Center in New Haven.
