Kid's Shabbat, Giant Used Book Sale, and Tariffville Block Party

The Farmington Valley Jewish Congregation- Emek Shalom is holding a Kid's Shabbat tonight at 6 p.m. Celebrate the birthday of the world with a special services and a pizza dinner especially for families with young children. Kids will go home with a self-decorated beehive.

The Friends of Simsbury Public Library is hosting the annual Giant Used Book Sale on Saturday starting at 9 a.m. Choose from thousands of donated books and other items. All proceeds from the Giant Used Book Sale support programs and services at the Simsbury Library.

There's a Block Party on Main Street in Tariffville on Saturday starting at 11 a.m. There will be a canned food drive and car wash to benefit local food pantries, free hot dogs and soda, ballons for the kids and much more. The party is sponsored by Checkered Flag Auto Sales and Service and Village Auto Repair.
