To the Editor,
I am writing to support John Hampton as Simsbury's next State Representative. During these past four difficult economic years, John has been a consistent vote for responsible town budgeting, voting for historic near zero budget increases four years in a row. Having worked closely with John these past 3 years I know John understands that when times are tough, the Town needs to tighten its belt to deliver quality services at affordable costs.
John has been a leader on tax relief for Simsbury's seniors and worked tirelessly for our Veterans. Always active in our community, John founded the Clean Energy Task Force and the Volunteer Expo which lets various town and community organizations showcase volunteer opportunities for teens and adults. John works with school and town staff and students to organize Simsbury's Martin Luther King town-wide ceremonies each year. And as a life long resident of Tariffville, John has been an advocate for improvements to the Tariffville Village green, including the gazebo and sidewalks.

As the Chairman of the Public Safety Committee, John has been instrumental in emergency disaster planning and implementation to keep our residents safe. During Storm Alfred last October, I saw the hours and commitment John devoted to our community. John worked hard and demanded improved responses from utility companies to ensure the safety of our community.
Finally, on a personal note, John is a kind and caring individual who is always willing to listen. He respects other points of view and takes a balanced approach to problem solving that is needed at our legislature.

At the State Capitol, John will continue to represent Simsbury well as a fiscal conservative committed to improving our community. Please join me in voting for John Hampton on November 6th.
Sincerely,
Lisa Heavner
