Man Spends Night In Woods Inside Wrecked Vehicle: Simsbury PD
The Simsbury Police Department said the 44-year-old crash victim never returned home, and his wrecked vehicle was found deep in the woods.

SIMSBURY, CT — Local police are investigating a car accident that injured a 44-year-old man who spent the night in a crashed vehicle deep in the woods in Simsbury.
According to the Simsbury Police Department, officers received a call at 8:02 a.m. on Tuesday about an adult male who did not return home.
The SPD began investigating utilizing license plate reading cameras and emergency global positioning system (GPS) technology.

Police said they were able to pinpoint the vehicle's last known location, which was 3 Overlook Terrace.
"Police immediately searched the area and determined that the man had been involved in a motor vehicle crash," the SPD said in a statement released Tuesday afternoon.

Police said the vehicle, which was hidden from view of the road, was found off the roadway in a wooded area near the intersection of Bushy Hill Road and Overlook Terrace.
"First responders immediately began treating the individual for injuries sustained from the crash," wrote police. "Life-saving efforts required the use of extrication tools by the Simsbury Volunteer Fire Department."
Police said the man was then rushed to Saint Francis Hospital in Hartford by Simsbury Volunteer Ambulance.
The SPD said it is still investigating the circumstances of the crash, and no further information was available.
