Meet Simsbury High School's New Principal
Andrew O'Brien will begin his new position on July 1.

On July 1, Andrew O’Brien will begin his new position as Simsbury High School’s principal.
O’Brien served as a teacher for Middletown High School for 13 years and in 2007 was appointed assistant principal at MHS, where he served over four years.

He just completed his fourth year as principal at Nonnewaug High School in Woodbury.
O’Brien earned his B.S. in Biology from Southern Connecticut State University and his M.A. from Quinnipiac University. He also earned his Sixth Year Degree in Educational Leadership from Central Connecticut State University.

According to the Hartford Courant, O’Brien spent his early 20s diving off a research vessel for the Norwalk Maritime Aquarium. He taught marine biology on the vessel, taking students out on Norwalk Harbor.
O’Brien is originally from Cheshire and now resides in Burlington with his family.
