New Playground To Be Celebrated In Simsbury

Simsbury's recreation department Wednesday will host a ribbon-cutting for the new Simsbury Farms Playground.

SIMSBURY, CT — Local schools have a half day on Wednesday and what better way to enjoy the unusual afternoon off than to celebrate Simsbury's newest play area in town?

The Simsbury Culture, Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a ribbon-cutting celebration at the Simsbury Farms Recreational Site, 100 Old Farms Road, West Simsbury, on Wednesday, Dec. 6, at 1:30 p.m.

That is where the town is officially opening a new play area that was recently finished.

The state-of-the-art "Simsbury Farms Playground" features a colorful collection of playscape features for children of all ages and abilities.

Simply put, this isn't your mother or father's playground.

And while the December opening might mean some chilly play on Wednesday, it doesn't mean children can't have fun.

To warm souls and stomachs, the town will have hot chocolate and cookies available for guests at the ceremony.
