Relationship to nominee: I know Jan because we are both members of Simsbury United Methodist church.

Reason for recognition: Jan started the Simsbury Days for Girls Chapter which has sent thousands of kits to Ghana, Uganda , Lebanon and others. Once COVID hit, she switched them to making masks and they donated more than 3,000 masks to area residents.

One thing to know: She is tireless. After the explosion in Lebanon, she raised enough money to ship 470 pounds of kits to Pittsburgh for eventual shipment to Lebanon. She did this in part by making and selling cloth masks that are almost as good as an N95.
