Simsbury Athletes Win State Titles At CIAC Indoor Track Championships
A relay team and a thrower brought home state crowns from the CIAC Class L indoor track and field championships Tuesday.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A relay team and a thrower from Simsbury High School brought home state titles for the Trojans at the CIAC Class L indoor track and field championships Tuesday at the Floyd Little Athletic Center.
The girls 4 x 800 relay team of Emma Horniatko, Charlotte Diviney, Sophia Smith and Kylie Ritchie emerged victorious, covering the distance in 9:55.30, more than 13 seconds ahead of their nearest competitor. The girls compiled 47 points to place third among the 20 teams which scored points. Windsor won the division for the ninth straight season with a whopping 93 points.
On the boys' side, senior Marshall Potter captured the shot put championship with a heave of 59 feet, 7 inches. The boys team placed 13th overall with 12 points.
