Simsbury Fire District OK's New Budget/Tax Rate
The Simsbury Fire District hosted its annual meeting Monday to determine its budget for the Simsbury Volunteer Fire Co.
SIMSBURY, CT — The Simsbury Fire District on Monday approved an operating budget and tax rate for the Simsbury Volunteer Fire Co.
Voters at the annual meeting said "yes" to a $4,086,736 budget for fire department operations, carrying with it a mill rate of 1.14.
For a home assessed at $300,000 in the fire district, its owner would pay $342 annually in taxes for fire protection.

In addition, district voters:
• Approved a resolution to transfer $300,000 from reserves to the capital non-recurring fire truck account for the purchase of fire apparatus.

• Re-elected Simsbury Volunteer Fire Co. President Gary Wilcox to a two-year term and re-elected Clerk of the District John Solury for a two-year term.
