“We’re thrilled to recognize Coach Masters as an example of what a coach should be,” said Jamy Bechler of Jamy Bechler Leadership Consulting. “The late Billy Graham used to say that a
coach can impact more young people in one year than most people do in a lifetime."

Simsbury High School Athletic Director Jeff Pinney said “Coach Masters is the epitome of an education-based athletics coach and his commitment to developing young people of character into successful adults is respected and valued by all stakeholders of the Simsbury community.
He serves as a resource and example for our other coaches and we greatly appreciate his dedication and approach to coaching in Simsbury."

The Leadership Playbook program by Bechler helps athletic departments and sports teams build stronger cultures by developing better teammates and more positive leaders.

As part of the online curriculum, the program has hundreds of 2-minute video lessons to increase a person’s leadership abilities and develop life skills.

Deserving coaches from across the United States were nominated by their peers, administrators, teachers, student-athletes and, in some cases, even competitors from other schools.

Award winners were announced on Twitter @CoachBechler in late June.
