The storm comes amid a relatively mild and snow-free winter. Initially, anywhere from 6-12 inches of snow was expected to hit the state Tuesday.
But a new storm track has decreased those figures, with WFSB Channel 3 predicting inch counts in the 2-4 inch range. Those counts, however, slowly increased and, now, 6-10 inches is predicted.

According to the Simsbury Public Works Department, there are several issues to keep in mind. They are:
• Do not leave vehicles on the streets.
• Refrain from shoveling, snow blowing, or plowing snow into the road.
"It makes for an uneven surface on the roads that can take drivers by surprise, adding to hazardous road conditions," wrote Simsbury's DPW. "It also creates more work for our snow removal crews, which increases costs for the town."
Doing so, officials said, is a violation of a local ordinance and punishable by a fine.
