Simsbury Warns Of New Door-To-Door Scam

Reportedly, people are knocking on Simsbury residents' doors claiming to be working with the town, which is false.

SIMSBURY, CT — Town officials are warning Simsbury residents about a door-to-door scam where people are saying they're vendors working with the town to repave driveways.

Simply put, the Simsbury Public Works Department said Friday, it's no true.

"We do not coordinate with private commercial entities in this manner--don't listen to them," wrote Simsbury DPW.

If someone comes knocking on your door selling anything, they are required to have obtained a vendor permit from the Simsbury Town Clerk's office.

"This process ensures that the business is checked out and that all employees going door-to-door have had background checks," wrote town officials.

"If they don't have a vendor permit, feel free to call the Simsbury Police Department and shut the door."
