Simsbury's Dining Scene Adds New Coffee Shop To Roster

A Southington-based Italian coffee shop has expanded and opened a new location in Simsbury.

SIMSBURY, CT — A family-owned, Italian-style coffee shop that opened during the height of the pandemic in Southington is doing so well, it opened a second branch in Simsbury this week.

The Lions Den Coffee Shop, owned by Vincenzo and Anisa Infante, opened in Simsbury at 712 Hopmeadow St., Simsbury, on Monday.

In 2020, the Infantes opened the first Lions Den at 57 W. Main St. in the Plantsville section of Southington during a time when many eateries were shutting down amid the economic chaos of the Covid-19 pandemic.

But they have flourished and persevered enough to expand and that's just what happened this week.

Both shops offer up a massive variety of Italian and European-style coffee beverages, pastries and breakfast sandwich offerings.

And, the Lions Den also offers traditional lunchtime foods such as Italian-style sandwichs, soups and other culinary delights.

And those taste bud-tempting creations are now available in Simsbury from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. every day, seven days a week.

The Simsbury hours are "soft-opening" hours and those could change after the official grand opening, which is slated later in the winter.

In an announcement via social media, the Infantes expressed excitement about the future of Simsbury's location.

"Stay tuned for our grand opening announcement and for more extended hours to follow," wrote the owners. "Please share the exciting news with your friends."
