Simsbury's Summer To Go Out With A 'Blast' On Saturday

The annual 'End-Of-Summer Blast' promises family fun, food, and fireworks at a prominent Simsbury recreation site.

SIMSBURY, CT — Ready to have a blast?

The Simsbury Culture, Parks, and Recreation Department will deliver that on Saturday, Aug. 23, when the community will gather for the annual "End-Of-Summer Blast" at Simsbury Farms, 100 Old Farms Road, West Simsbury.

The event starts at 5 p.m. with food, fun, and activities, and ends at 9 p.m. following a massive fireworks show.

The event is to celebrate the end of the summer with live music, fireworks, food, and inflatables.

There will be food for sale, and overflow parking will be available at the Apple Barn and Orkil Field.
Handicapped parking will be at the pool lot.

The town released the following schedule for the event:

Inflatables: 5 to 7:40 p.m.

Face Painter | Balloon Twister: 5 to 8 p.m.

Live Music by Rhythm City Band: 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Fireworks: 8:40 p.m.

As for food options, they will be available from 5 to 8:30 p.m. and they include: La Joya Fresh Mexican; Frankie's Food Truck; The Hilltop Grille; I Know A Guy Deli; Doc Popcorn & Dippin' Dots; and Ben & Jerry's.
