Sunday Storms Slam Simsbury, Roads Now Reopened: UPDATE
Several Simsbury Roadways Were Closed After Thunderstorms Swept Through Sunday Afternoon.
SIMSBURY, CT — A stormy start to summer continued Sunday, with several Simsbury roads closed due to downed trees, branches, and wires.
By Monday, however, local police said all roads closed were now reopened and the scenes cleared.
Late Sunday afternoon, the Simsbury Police Department said several roads were impacted, including West Mountain Road closed from Roswell to Canton road; Vining Drive closed; Minster Brook Road closed from Top View Drive to Pine Glen; Town Forest Road (dirt portion) closed; and Great Meadow closed.

"Some of these closures are partial and pertain to sections of the roadway only," wrote the SPD. "Use caution. Do not drive around barriers. Do not touch any wires."
