Superstar Simsbury Athlete Wins Massive Honor
He was named a Gatorade athlete of the year for his sport in Connecticut.

SIMSBURY, CT — One member of Simsbury High School's Class of 2025 recently walked away with a huge honor for his prowess in track and field.
The Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference recently announced that Marshal Potter was named Gatorade Connecticut Boys Track & Field Player of the Year, the sports biggest honor.
Standing 6-feet-4-inches tall and weighing 225 pounds, the University of Connecticut-bound Potter specializes in the throw events.

He earned a bronze medal in the hammer and discus at the New Balance Nationals Outdoor last weekend (June 21-22) in Philadelphia.
His state record of 227 feet, 9 inches in the hammer ranked No. 3 nationally among prep boys competitors this spring.

Marshall also won the discus and shot put at the Class L State Championships and won the discus at the CIAC State Open and New England Championships.
