'Taste Of Simsbury' Celebrates Local Culinary Scene This Week

SIMSBURY, CT — Tickets are still on sale for, perhaps, the Simsbury culinary scene's biggest event of the year.

The 15th annual "Taste of Simsbury" will take place on Thursday, Aug. 21, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at The Riverview, 10 Winslow Place, Weatogue (Simsbury).

A major fundraiser for the Simsbury Main Street Partnership, the "Taste of Simsbury" is also sponsored by several local businesses and organizations, and is being presented by Liberty Bank.

The Simsbury Main Street Partnership is a nonprofit organization "devoted to the continued success of our town," reads the organization's website.

"We focus on progressive economic development, recreation, tourism, and historic preservation, so that all of Simsbury’s assets and legacy can be leveraged for our prosperity," wrote the partnership.

For $65, guests will have "unlimited access" to dozens of local participating restaurants and food businesses in Simsbury.

Tickets can be purchased in person at Fitzgerald's Foods, located at 710 Hopmeadow St. (customer service desk); Welden Hardware, at 10 Station St.; and The Wine House (cash or checks only) at 1356 Hopmeadow St., Simsbury. Tickets can also be purchased online.

Simsbury First Selectman Wendy Mackstutis praised the event, urging folks to get their tickets now.

"If you haven't been, I recommend getting tickets before they sell out. And everyone is welcome. Eat, drink, and mingle among friends," she wrote on Facebook.
